Fallings – Work in Progress

A multi-media chamber music theater piece residing in the realm between opera and musical theater, written in collaboration with librettist Seth Friedman. We are heading back to the Montalvo Arts Center in September 2013 to continue work.

Fallings tells the complex story of two childhood friends: Laura, a spoiled, but celebrated, violinist, and Teresa, her perpetual “second fiddle” — an enabler/fixer, and control freak manager. Fallings probes the bonds of friendship and asks: how far we are willing to stretch them?  It is scored for a 6 person cast (3 women, 3 men), solo violinist, mixed ensemble, and pre-recorded sound.  It is projected to be a one act.
